BioDispersant-1506®
Product Information May 10, 2000 PRODUCT INFORMATION BioDispersant-1506® Houghton's BioDispersant-1506® is a low molecular weight,
very high charge density cationic polyamine. It is supplied as a clear to
opaque liquid, low viscosity aqueous solution. 1506 is a cationic polymer
that performs well in the pH range 2.5 to 10.0.
Houghton's BioDispersant-1506® is a polymer that is very
effective in controlling organic deposits in cooling water systems. It is
especially effective in preventing slime masses resulting from bacterial
or algae growth which results in improved heat transfer efficiency as well
as more effective scale and corrosion control afforded by clean,
deposit-free surfaces. Houghton's BioDispersant-1506® may be applied neat or diluted with water to a maximum of 90% water: 10% 1506. 1506 is normally slug fed by hand or by pump. The dosage should be based on the water holding capacity of the system. Slug doses should be applied instantly or over a period of up to 1 hour, if pumped. For normal maintenance of a clean system 1506 should be fed at a dosage of 10 - 50 ppm one to three times per week. For systems with moderate fouling due to continuing contamination 1506 should be fed at a dosage 50 - 100 ppm two to four times per week. To clean heavily fouled systems 1506 should be added daily at a dosage of 100 - 200 ppm until the system is clean. In all cases, a microbiocide should be used according to the supplier's instructions. Foam may result from high levels of suspended organic matter. A suitable defoamer may be used to control foaming. STORAGE AND HANDLING BioDispersant-1506® should be stored at 50 - 90 Deg. F.
Short term exposure to higher or lower temperatures will not normally harm
the product. If frozen, BioDispersant-1506 should be warmed to 80 - 100
Deg. F. and mixed well prior to use. The shelf life of
BioDispersant-1506 is at least 6 months. | |||||||||||||||||
